Host Institution – Grint Centre

Our students enjoy truly academic environment on the 150-acre campus of Moscow University for the Humanities located in the south-eastern part of Moscow in a beautiful area not far from the famous XVIII century estate Kuskovo which is well known for its park and lakes with easy access from downtown Moscow by subway. It is just 7 metro stops to Kremlin.

Here the students may find everything necessary for fruitful academic experience (classrooms, dormitories, cafeteria, swimming pool, gym, etc.) and enormous possibilities to communicate with the Russian students on daily basis.

Housing - Dorms

As a housing option, Grint Centre for Education and Culture is offering comfortable 2 bed rooms in the dormitory located on the campus of Moscow University for the Humanities in the Southeast Moscow.

Located about a minute away from the school building, the dorm provides everything students might need during their stay in Moscow: comfortable rooms, spacious kitchen, fast Wi-Fi Internet, free access to the washing machine. Needless to say, the dorm building is guarded 24/7 by the security. The dorm is very conveniently located in the quiet residential neighborhood right on the edge of Moscow and about 15 minutes away from the nearest metro station. The campus area is very green and comforting with a huge park nearby and facilities for exercising and jogging.

For students who live in the dormitory, sheets, blankets, bedcovers and pillowcases are provided. Towels and dishtowels should be brought along or students can buy these items in Moscow. Rooms are cleaned before and after each program session. Kitchen and common areas are cleaned on a regular basis. During the program, students clean their own rooms.

Dorm features:
  • 9 floors
  • Every floor (we call it 'section') has 8 rooms
  • American students are mixed with Russians which makes it perfect for practicing everyday speech
  • The dorm is accessed with electronic passes and guarded 24\7
  • Students share shower stalls, bathrooms, a washing machine and a kitchen. The drying machine is not provided
  • Bedding is changed every 10 days
  • A small towel is provided
  • Toilet paper is not provided by the dorm

Meals
Breakfast and lunch are provided at our campus cafeteria. Every day, food is freshly prepared and cooked by our cafeteria staff.

Sport Facilities

Campus facilities include gym and indoor swimming pool located within 5 minutes from the dorm.

Transportation in Moscow

Grint Center for Education and Culture is located in the Southeast part of Moscow. Approximately a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute bus ride separate the campus and Vykhino, the closest metro stop.

The Moscow transportation system includes metro, buses, trams and trolleys is one of the most developed in the world. There are no areas in the city that are not covered by either a metro or a bus route. A single pass card (costs 1570 rubles for 60 rides/approx. $23) is valid for all of them. The metro map, although might seem a bit complicated at first, is very straightforward and intuitive which makes it extremely hard to get lost. There is also a way of transportation called Маршрутка/Marshrutka. Marshrutka buses typically look like white or yellow vans. The main difference between them and all other types of transportation is that the driver will stop and let people out almost anywhere they want. However, that is private operation and therefore not covered by the metro pass.

Taxis in Moscow are very affordable by the US standards and easy to use. There is a variety of taxi apps for smartphones (Uber, Gett, Yandex taxi etc.) that are easy to use, convenient and safe.

Airport transfers
Moscow has 3 major International Airports – Domodedovo, Sheremetievo, Vnukovo. We put them in the order of the distance from our school. The students might arrive to any of it and will be met inside the airport, just after the customs section, look for a person holding a sign with your name on it.

We expect the students to send us their full flight itineraries that should include flight numbers and connections so that we can trace their arrival and meet them regardless of flight delays.

We expect the students to arrive during the weekend before the program starts and to leave during the last weekend of the program.
